Timothy Franklin Hawkins Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Timothy Franklin Hawkins of Ada, Michigan, born in Clyde, North Carolina, who passed away on July 8, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walker Vance and Eulah Mary Elizabeth Hawkins (Blackwell); his sister-in-law Mary DeJong; and his niece Kathleen Joy Hawkins Cole. He is survived by: his wife Jane Ellen Hawkins (Blouw); his son Timothy W. Hawkins of Grand Rapids; his son-in-law Josh Cole (Libby) of Ada; his brother Steve Hawkins (Danielle) of San Diego, Calif.; his brother-in-law William Blouw (Lou) of Davis, Calif.; his aunt Betty Jo Trantham (Hawkins) of Asheville, N. C.; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Samantha, David Hawkins, Madeline, Sydney and Charlie Cole; and his close friend Bob Van Eck. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel (2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). The military honors was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Kent District Library Alto Branch, West Coast Drill Instructor Association (WCDIA) or Corewell Health Hospice and Palliative Care, which provided extraordinary care and comfort in the last months of Tim's life.
