He was predeceased by : his parents, C. Albert Simmons and Elizabeth Simmons (Stasik); and his brother Al Simmons. He is survived by : his wife Barbara (Hankins) of Cumberland; his children, Lauren Bailey (Troy) and Tyler Simmons (Margaret); his grandsons, Trent, Lucas and Bryce Bailey; and his siblings, Cindy McComas (David), Phil Simmons (Sandy), Ed Simmons (Sandy) and Rita James (Robert).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian, Michigan.
