He was predeceased by: his parents, Virle Smead and Betty Smead (Holloway); his grandparents, Cecil Smead and Myrtle Beach; and his siblings, Ronald Halliwill, William Smead, Linda Sue Smead and Bonnie Lou Halliwill.
He is survived by: his son Jason Smead; and his siblings, Linda Fretwell (Mike), Connie Montalvo, Audie Smead (Marilyn) and Virle Smead Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his four beloved dogs.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Purse Funeral Home (2959 N Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI 49221). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
