He was predeceased by: his mother Ella Jacobson; his stepfather George Slater; his sister Charlotte Jordan; and his daughter-in-law Emma Schwartz. He is survived by: his wife Linda Faye Schwartz; his sons, Duane A. Schwartz II (Laurie) and Daniel Schwartz (late Emma); his grandchildren, Jennifer Schwartz, Daniel C. Schwartz, Jr. (Breana), Anddora Martinez (Nick Soss), Audrey Schwartz and Seth Schwartz; his great grandchildren, Logan Amos and Ariana Schwartz; and his siblings-in-law, Dora and Lyle Teague.

Memorial contributions in honor of Duane may be given to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
