He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Oliver Burnette and Helen Burnette (Doss); his brother Don Burnette; and his parents-in-law, Douglas and Phylis Hackney.

He is survived by: his mother-in-law Susan Denise Burnette (Hackney); his wife Susan Burnette; his children, Jestin Burnette, Joey Burnette (Heather) and Jami Dodge; his siblings, Ronald Burnette (Sue), David Burnette (Mary), Chuck Burnette, Brenda Richardson and Sandy Longsdorf (Ron); and his grandchildren, Abby Dodge, Max Dodge, Logan Burnette, Owen Burnette and Connor Burnette.
