It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Genoveva Cardenas of Adrian, Michigan, born in Karnes City, Texas, who passed away on November 30, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Jose Gauna and Alejandra Gauna (Naranjo); her sons, Francisco Vega, Jesus Riojas and Johnny Vega; and her brothers, Frank Gauna, Raymond Gauna, Jose "Chito" Gauna Jr., Albert Gauna and Richard Gauna.

She is survived by : her husband Manuel Cardenas; her daughters, Vivian Burton, Virginia Ruiz (Simon), Lissette Gomez and Lucy Gomez; her siblings, Rosemary Cruz (Sixto), Janie Ybarra, Oscar Gauna and Olga Ledesma (Chilo); her granddaughters, Brenda Gearhart and Ann Marie Guyton; and her great grandchildren, Amorrita Enright and Tomas DeLaGarza II. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
