He was predeceased by: his parents, Reynaldo Rivera, Sr. and Maria Vega Rivera; his wife Donna Rivera (Gravelle); his stepdaughter Nina Sloan; and his nephews, David Houghton and Michael Burciaga.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Rivera (Dale) and Sonia Rivera; his stepdaughter Annette Sloan; his grandchildren, Robert Campos, Lynsey Rye (Jacob), Kathryn Perry (Matthew), Frank Angulo, Sharlene Viramontes (Robert), Courtney Puri (Vidhit) and Trysten Valdez; his sisters, Helen Martinez (Abel) and Mary Ann Soto (Edward); his great grandchildren, Robert Campos, Ariah Moya, Arthur Campos, Dominic Viramontes, Declan Rye, Elijah Viramontes, Johnny Viramontes and Delia Puri; and his nieces and nephews, Linda Burciaga, Susan Houghton, Gloria Olivarez, Abel Martinez, Sandra Guzman and Freddy Olivarez (Lisa).
