He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman Hanel and Esther Hanel (Dunn); his wife Barbara Watters; and his siblings, Helen Joyce Benedict, Patricia Hammond, Beverly LaFave, Dale and John Hanel.
He is survived by: his children, Harold Jr., John (Tammy) of Afton, Wayne (Tonya) of Tower, Brad (Heather) of Indian River, Sandy Hanel of Ruskin and Joyce Hanel (Jeff Geyer) of Afton; and his sisters, Carolyn Appleford and Trudy Reynolds (Gil). He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
