With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Charles Nixon of Akron, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 18, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Nixon and Vernice Nixon (Cosens); his grandparents, Leo, Myrtle Nixon, Charles and Margaret Cosens; his brother Dennis; his sister-in-law Shirley Nixon; his son-in-law James Forrest; and his nephew Dennis Nixon.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Neu; his children, Laurie Richter (Rick), Linda Nixon and Brett Nixon; his grandchildren, Jeff Forrest, Lisa Forrest, Alex Pierson (Sarah) and Lynn Rea (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Riley, Max, Carli, Camryn, Chloe, Aldo and Jordyn; and his brothers, Raymond Dale Nixon, LeRoy (Sharon Loeffler), Coral Neu, Bradley Neu and David (Deanne Beuschel). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
