With sadness, we share the passing of Hilda Grace Ebbinghaus (Albion, Michigan). Hilda, born on May 4, 1940, passed away on October 13, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond Kapla and Helen Kapla (Warren); her husband Carl J. Ebbinghaus; her sons, Lee E. Ebbinghaus and Carl Jay Ebbinghaus; and her nephew Christopher Kapla.
She is survived by: her son Raymond Ebbinghaus (Teddi) of Albion; her siblings, Carla Highe of Albion and David Kapla of Melvindale, MI; her daughter-in-law Chris Ebbinghaus; her grandchildren, Conner Ebbinghaus, Nathan Ebbinghaus, Alexandria Reynolds, Sean Nagle (Bitzy), Marissa Hemminger (J. D.) and Ashley Nagle; and her nieces and nephews, Edward Highe (Chelsea), Veronica Gardella (Rob), David Kapla II (Dana), Steven Kapla, Shannon Kapla and Jeremy Kapla (Heather). She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, many great nieces, great nephews, extended family.
A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ft. Custer National Cemetery (15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012).
Memorial contributions may be made to Oaklawn Hospice or to the Forks Senior Center.
