Jeanne Wainwright Geister, age 72, of Alger, Michigan, passed away on July 10, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1953, in Portsmouth, Virginia, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength.
On June 18, 1977, in Portsmouth, Virginia, she married Wholley Russell Geister, and together they shared many years of companionship and love. Her family and friends will remember her as a loving, kind, and gentle woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her.
Jeanne was the beloved daughter of Benjamin T. Wainwright and Ada Frances (Shay) Wainwright, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Geister, and her brother, Thomas Wainwright.
Jeanne is survived by her sister, Donna Wainwright Moorehead, stepdaughter, Laura Geister, niece Dana Wainwright Griffin, and nephew Jon Thomas (JT) Wainwright. She leaves behind memories of gentle kindness, steadfast love, and a spirit that touched the lives of those who knew her. Her family will remember her for the care she gave, the warmth she shared, and the calm, reassuring presence she offered throughout her life.
Jeanne attended school with dedication and earned an associate's degree in business, a reflection of her steady work ethic and practical mind. She went on to build a respected career as a Bank Trust Officer for Wells Fargo Bank, where she was known for her professionalism, reliability, and thoughtful manner. In her work, as in her daily life, Jeanne carried herself with grace and care, and she left a lasting impression on colleagues and those she served.
Outside of her career, Jeanne found joy in the simple things that made life brighter. She loved Yankee Candles, Beanie Babies, shopping, and, above all, Dachshunds. Her affection for her dogs was deep and unwavering, and her two beloved Dachshunds, Frankie and Lulu, were cherished companions who brought her great happiness. She had a special appreciation for the comforts of home and the small pleasures that made each day meaningful.
Jeanne Wainwright Geister will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Her life was one of simple grace, meaningful work, and heartfelt connections, and the legacy she leaves behind is one of love, tenderness, and enduring devotion.
Honoring Jeanne's wishes cremation has taken place with no services planned at this time.
