With profound sadness, we say goodbye to William H. Sykes Jr. of Algonac, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. William left this world on October 12, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Sykes and Villa Sykes; his siblings, Brooke Norris Sykes and Roger Andrew Sykes; and his son-in-law Robert J. Wlash.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Wlash, Linda Berry (Doug), Denise Hertzberg (Robert), Dale Sykes (Deborah), Guy Sykes (Bonnie) and Ronald Sykes (Michele); and his sister Harriet Sykes-Keuter. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23, great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:20 PM at the Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home (4061 St Clair Hwy, East China, MI 48054). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (610 S Water St, Marine City, MI 48039). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:10 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
