He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carole; his children, Traci Middendorf (Jeff), Deborah Kononowech, Nancy Alley (Peter) and William Syer (Maureen); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Middendorf, Robert Kononowech (Jennifer), Joshua Alley, Christopher Kononowech, Adam Middendorf, Troy Alley, Megan Hotvedt (Mike), Tyler Syer and Carlee Arevalo (Derek); and his great grandchildren, Jax, McKenzie, Amelia, Charlotte and Lucy.
