He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his daughters, Amy Karel (Kurt), Lori Zeppenfield (Chris) and Julie Neuhaus (David); his stepchildren, Sharon Mattias (Joseph) and Robert Harrington; his grandchildren, Trevor Karel (Kaley), Tayler Millis (Brad), Jessica Gausepohl (Doug), Jennifer Andrew (Gavin), Garrett Mattias (Cici), Frankie, Jillian, Giada Garzelloni, Levi and Simon Neuhaus; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Calvin, Everett, River and Huck; and his siblings, Jim Gates (Carol), Robert Gates (Joyce), Virginia Huffman (Michael) and Susan Davis (Lee). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
