He is survived by: his children, Joel, Laura Potgeter and Kristine Gorney (Potgeter); his grandchildren, Greg, Rebekah Potgeter, Kurt, Andrea Potgeter, Steven, Jodi Potgeter, Jared, Heather Potgeter, Ryan Balcom, Anna, Daniel Hendricks, Haylea Gorney and Kendra Gorney; and his siblings-in-law, Joe, Alice Carrell, Al and Joanie Carrell. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (6651 Scott St, Allendale Charter Twp, MI 49401). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
