He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Schmidt and Mary Ellen Schmidt (Roher); his stepmother Frances Schmidt; his brother Ray Schmidt; and his great grandchild Damian.
He is survived by: his wife Claudia Stennes; his children, Carol Radkey (Steve), Lou Allen (Michael) and Dennis Schmidt (Rayna); his grandchildren, Joshua Topper (Ashley), Nathan Topper (Chanda), Angel White (Logan), Jasminerae Waltz (Emilio) and James Gilson (Kelsea); and his great grandchildren, Sierra, Isabell, Robin, Evelyn, Amelia and Andres.
