She was predeceased by : her parents, Ralph Hilyard and Siddona Hilyard (Staylor); her son Robert Gilbert; her grandson Randy Skidmore; her brothers, Riley, Curtis, Ken, Bob and Dan; and her stepbrothers, Joe and Bill.

She is survived by : her husband Jim; her daughter Elizabeth Yura (Douglas); her grandchildren, Dereck Skidmore, Christopher Kirk, Keisha Andrews, Katie Gilbert and Robert Gilbert Jr.; her great grandchildren, Ryan, Caden, Cobi, Fyona, Maci, Silas, Hudson, Sophie, Charlie, Bentley, Kam, Moon, Nyla and Emmett; and her sister Kathy Williams (Larry). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
