It is with sadness that the passing of James A Courter in Alma, Michigan is shared. James, born on May 4, 1963, passed away on October 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Courter and Kathryn Courter (Feltman); his wife Christine Courter; his siblings, Butch Courter, Karen Mills (Bill), Tom Courter and Jean Davenport; his brother-in-law Cam Edwards; his sisters, Anne and Mary; and his nephew Todd Mills.
He is survived by: his children, Tyler Courter (Vanessa Davis), Haley King and Blake Courter; his grandchildren, Jayden, Thomas, Landon, Emma, Vincent, Charlee and Tessa; his sisters, Elaine (Dan Fleming), Juanita Edwards, Kathy (Kyle Wilhelm) and Laura Courter (Stephanie); his sister-in-law Janice Courter; and his close friend Barb Jason. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Berry Funeral Home (106 W Wright Ave, Shepherd, MI 48883). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
