He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry Bethka and Beatrice Bethka (Yarnell); his sister-in-law Bonnie Bethka; his sister Patricia Carrick (Bethka); and his brother-in-law John Giles.

He is survived by : his daughters, Dana Bethka and Callie Ehlman (Bethka); his wife Vickie Bethka (Giles); his son-in-law Bryan Ehlman; his grandchildren, Lissa Heistand (Shane), James Bethka (Hilary), Steven Bethka, Sarah Ehlman, Michael Ehlman and Nicholas Ehlman; his great grandchildren, Clark Bethka, Ryan Heistand and Jacob Heistand; and his brother William.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gratiot Commission on Aging.
