He was predeceased by: his parents, John Moerlins and Lois Moerlins (Fontaine); and his brother John Moerlins. He is survived by: his wife Emily Slocum; his daughter Monica Darga; and his sister Elizabeth Miller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, Alma Kilted Pickleball Group or the Alma United Methodist Church.
