He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Efaw and Jeannette Efaw (Eldredge); and his brother Thomas Efaw. He is survived by: his wife Donna McGillis; his children, Charles Efaw (Jenniffer), Frederick Efaw (Amy) and Laurie VanHorn; his grandchildren, Anne Marie Choksy (Dorian), Holly Wert (Andrew), Alberta Magliola (Ryan), Amanda Efaw, Wyatt Efaw and Hayden Efaw; and his siblings, Susan Shurkey (Charles), Dur Efaw (Linda) and Janice Cooper (Stephen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gratiot County Fair For Youth.
