He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughters, Pookie and Ror; his wife Mary Elizabeth Douglas (Van Sittert); his daughters, Sarah Hillman (Jeffrey), Joy McMillan (Joseph), Rebecca-Lynn Ferguson (Patrick) and Ruth Gillett (AJ); his grandchildren, Alathea McMillan, Zuri Hillman, Aiden McMillan, Amira Hillman, Douglas Gillett and Rosie Gillett; his parents, Terence Gordon Douglas and Sheila Elizabeth Johnston; his siblings, Michael Douglas, Clem Douglas, Jeanie Gebhardt and Ruth Collett; and his daughter Mary. He was also cherished by loving husband to his best friend of over 50 years, an extraordinary daddy to his four girls, and a beloved papa to his six grandchildren.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Resurrection Life Church (714 S Main St, St. Louis, MI 48880).
In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a memorial fund in Rory's honor.
