He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen R. McNeil (Greene) and James A. McNeil; and his sister Carol MacNeill (Duane). He is survived by: his siblings, Julie Dewell (Dale) and James McNeil (Patty); his children, Debra McNeil, James McNeil (Sue) and Susan Wooden (Russell); and his grandchildren, Edward Scherf, David Scherf (Ashley), Chrystal Scherf (Glen), Katie Culletin (Josh) and James McNeil (Chelsea). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, and many other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Alpena, Michigan or Hospice of Michigan.
