With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Dorothy Lillian Sharp of Alpena, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Dorothy Lillian left this world on June 4, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Smolinski and Jennie Smolinski (Gronicke); her son Kenneth Sharp; her grandsons, Joseph Patrick Sharp and Timothy John Sharp Jr.; and her siblings, Clara Huiting, Edward Smolinski, Philip Smolinski, Martha Wysocki, Helen Stachelek, Mary Rudnicki, Leo Smolinski, Frank Smolinski and Irene Rudnicki (Chase).
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Paulette Gilliland (Don); and her sister Betty Jane Matuzak. She is also survived by her 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Bannan Funeral Home (222 S 2nd Ave, Alpena, MI 49707). A prayer will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Of All Saints Parish (817 Sable St, Alpena, MI 49707).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to All Saints School or Alpena Senior Citizens Center.
