In loving memory of Geraldine J Hunter (Alpena, Michigan), who departed this world on June 2, 2025 at the age of 90. Geraldine leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Powell and Veronica Powell (Sobieski); her husband Alex P. Hunter; her grandsons, David Hunter, Randy Mousseau and Blake Hunter; her sister Mary Lou VanDusen; and her daughter-in-law Teresa Hunter.
She is survived by: her sons, James Hunter, Daniel Hunter (Polly), Steven Hunter (Laurie), Peter Hunter (Krist) and Alex M Hunter (Michelle Boilore) of Alpena; and her siblings, Thomas Powell, Joan Hunter and Laurie Allen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the A. E. Ross Funeral Home (516 W Chisholm St, Alpena, MI 49707). A prayer will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (120 E Miller St, Alpena, MI 49707). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (1300 W Washington Ave, Alpena, MI 49707).
