We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2025, at the age of 82, Janis Lou Papineau (Alpena, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Janis find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Betty Johnston (Douville) and Frederick "Fred" T. Johnston; and her husband John Papineau. She is survived by: her daughter Paige Douville Papineau; her stepdaughter Deborah Wondergem; and her siblings, Joey Bott (Ken), Julie McCoy (Chris), Jere Johnston (Sharon), Jim Johnston (Stacie) and Jeff Johnston (Jessica). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (1600 W Chisholm St, Alpena, MI 49707). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
