He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Meldrum and Josephine Meldrum (Bertrard); his wife Donna Campbell; his son-in-law Wayne Lenard; and his siblings, Mary Leah Oke, Frederick Meldrum and Robert Meldrum.

He is survived by: his children, Laureen Meldrum, Lisa Lenard, Jay Douglas (Ilso), Dennis Meldrum, Fred Douglas (Rosa), Jennifer Berant (James) and Tricia Jones (Scott); his grandchildren, Ander Schunk, Robert Lutey (Megan), Daniel Douglas, Jay Douglas, Jr. (Ashley), SoYoung Douglas, Alexis Streefkerk (Michael), Emily Douglas, Zackery Douglas, Samantha McClure (Aaron), Danielle Berant, Trevor Jones (Rylei), Alex Jones and Owen Jones; and his great grandchildren, JD, Mia, Ava, Lydia, Zagan, Julia, Theo and Viv. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Inurnment: Long Rapids Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alpena Senior Citizens Center or The Friendship Room.
