John Pearcey Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Pearcey of Alpena, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on December 27, 2025 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Pearcey to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his stepfather Harold Pearcey; his grandsons, Jack Pearcey, James Pfeiffelmann and Trae LaChapelle; his mother-in-law Florence Bushey; his sisters, Eunice Krueger (John) and Pauline LeClair (Willard); and his brothers-in-law, Oliver DeRocher and Fred Hammermeister.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Hammermeister; his children, Jack Pearcey (Bernie), Toni Spencer (Bob) and Patti Depue (Fred); his daughter-in-law Darlene Pearcey; his grandchildren, Daryl Pearcey, Paula Luther, Tina Pearcey, Nicki LaChapelle, David LaChapelle, Ashley Pfeiffelmann, Shannon Pfeiffelmann, Alex Spencer, Jordan Spencer, Chase Spencer, Anna Spencer, Brandon Kurtzeal, Scott Kurtzeal and Michelle Jenkins; and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen DeRocher and Annette Hammermeister. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran School, and Hospice of Michigan.
