It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorraine Patricia Szymanski (Alpena, Michigan), who passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Florian Utecht and Francis Utecht (Modrzynski); her siblings, John Utecht and Dorothy Ann Barley; and her pet Charlie.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Szymanski; her children, Karen MacKinnon (Ken), Connie Kromer, Janice Bailey, Joan Adams-Videtch, Marge Noblett (Pat), Randy Kruse (Mary) and Carol Nowland; her grandchildren, Stacy (Josh), Lindsay (Emily), Scott (Alison), Joe (Ashlee), Megan (Jeff), Ryan (Olivia), Matt (Samantha), Alison, Jessica (Paul), Chelsea (Mike) and Stephanie; her brothers, Ken Utecht (Dede), Ron Utecht (Charlotte) and Jim Utecht (Lillian); and her siblings-in-law, Jamie Barley, Gayle Grzeskowiak and Linda Wascher. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment: Holy Cross Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to All Saints Catholic Church in her memory.
