It is with sadness that the passing of Gerald Jay Posthumus of Alto, Michigan is shared. Gerald passed away on September 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores; his parents, Charles Posthumus and Kate Posthumus; his siblings, Earl Posthumus (Lola), Charles Posthumus (Theresa), Donna Johnson (John), Gladys Krebs (Harold) and Frances Blough (Keith); and his brother-in-law Hayes Cargill.
He is survived by: his children, Joy Posthumus, Kim Johnson (Rob Jr.), Jeri Jousma (Randy) and Tony Posthumus (Janet); his grandchildren, Doug Jousma (Allison), Greg Jousma (Lindsay), Steven Jousma, Kevin Jousma (Lyndsey), Brandi Harmer (Bryan), Robert Johnson (Beth), Brittini Brummett (Eric), Macei Smith (Matthew), Cole Posthumus, Reece Posthumus and Blake Posthumus (Ashlin); his sister Peggy Cargill; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Tagg and Margene Tagg. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roth-Gerst Funeral Home (305 N Hudson St SE, Lowell, MI 49331). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
