It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carlese Thurmond of Ann Arbor, Michigan, who passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrenza Thurmond and Aron Thurmond (Rossum); his son Kevin Thurmond; and his siblings, Phyllis Boyd, Maurice Thurmond, Ann Chism and Glenda Fay Wesley.
He is survived by: his wife Dolly Thurmond; his children, Keenan Thurmond (Sadrina), LaDessia Thurmond-Jones (Herbert), Tiffany Walton (Cordell) and Sandra Hundley (Roy); and his siblings, Floyda Thurmond-Myrick and Carrenza Thurmond Jr.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whitehead Cathedral Church of God in Christ (2069 Tyler Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48198). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
