He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bradford Thomas, Sr. and Hazel Fuller Thomas; and his sister Deborah Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Myers; his daughters, Kristin Nguyen and Ellen Myers; his sons-in-law, Trung Nguyen and Ethan Milner; and his cousins, Richard Lewis (Delorse), Jacqueline Lett, Charles Covington, Reverend Marcel, Lovie Kellar and Georgianna Armstrong-Bey.

He retired in June 2020, during the early months of the pandemic.
