She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin McLane and Pearl McLane (Carlson); her husband James Howard Chapin; and her siblings, Mary Behrens, Alvin Jr., Lloyd, Edward and Donald McLane.
She is survived by: her children, James P. Chapin (Julia) of Ann Arbor and Denise O'Brien (Michael) of Ypsilanti; her grandchildren, Matthew O'Brien (Kimberly Kortkamp) of Leadville and Bridget O'Brien (Charlie Brennan) of Ann Arbor; her great grandchild Evan of Ann Arbor; and her sisters-in-law, Elma McLane Gunning, Nancy McLane and Bernice McLane. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
