Edward Surovell Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Edward Surovell in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Edward, born on March 20, 1940, passed away on October 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Surovell and Florence D. Starfield; and his sister Elizabeth. He is survived by: his wife Natalie Sallade Surovell of Wahr's University Bookstore; his children, David A. Surovell and Claire Surovell; his stepsons, Matthew Lacy and Nicholas Lacy; his grandchildren, Katherine Litteral, Elliot Surovell, Oliver Surovell, Samuel Lacy, Charles Lacy, Catherine Lacy and Nora Lacy; his brother Robert J. Surovell; and his former wife Barbara Surovell. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Nie Family Funeral Home, Liberty Road Chapel (3767 W Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Nie Family Funeral Home (3767 W Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Breakfast Program at St Andrews in Ann Arbor, a cause close to Ed's heart.
