George Thomas York III Obituary
We announce the death of George Thomas York III of Ann Arbor, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 60. George will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Merrell Harkema. He is survived by: his wife Julie Harkema; his sons, Lincoln and Aedan York (Marly Fortin); his parents, MaryGrace Carroll and George Thomas York Jr.; his siblings, Jamie York (Colleen) and Molly York Stelovich; his father-in-law Jim Harkema (Jacquie); his sisters-in-law, Susan Harkema (Van Gunter) and Sallie Harkema (Mark Cesarz); and his nieces and nephews, Ben, Josh, Sam York, Anten, Madox Stelovich, Jake, Shae Cesarz, Jordan, Camryn Gunter and Kaelon Harkema. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins, and innumerable and diverse friends.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the York Food & Drink (1928 Packard St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104).
