He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell B. Armstrong Jr. and Shirley McEwan (Snider); his stepfather James McEwan; and his siblings, Diane Burgher (Armstrong) and Michael Armstrong.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Armstrong (Ferrett); his children, Jennifer Hudgins (Armstrong), Rebecca Armstrong and Luke Armstrong; his grandchildren, Eleanor, Ingrid Hudgins and Stephen Woerner; his daughters-in-law, Lily Armstrong and Lauren Armstrong; and his siblings, Patricia Steinaway (Armstrong) and Douglass Armstrong.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Fellowship Evangelical Presbyterian Church (22200 Pontiac Trail, South Lyon, MI 48178).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center Research Fund and/or Joseph P. Lynch III, M.D., Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, both at Michigan Medicine.
