He is survived by: his wife Elissa Panush Benedek; his children, David Benedek (Cindy), Joel Benedek (Tami), Sarah Wasson (David) and Dina Jansen (Douglas); and his grandchildren, Kaitie Benedek, Ryan Benedek, Evan Benedek, Jason Benedek, Hanna Burnham (Ryan), Emma Benedek and Deedee Jansen.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 12:30 PM at 2000 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. A reception was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
