He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Grant and Ruth Grant; and his brother-in-law Robert Slette. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Schaffer Higgins; his stepchildren, Kelly Wilkie (David), Daniel Higgins (Lisa Grutza) and William Higgins (Maura); his grandchildren, Bob, Ryan Wilkie, Lauren Wilkie, Kathryn Wilkie, Kaitlyn Caroen (Darren), Madison Higgins, Liam Higgins and Reece Higgins; and his sister Sally Slette of McHenry, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM and at 2:30 PM.
