He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Luurtsema and Lillian Luurtsema (DeWaard); and his sister Merilyn Maack (Earle). He is survived by: his wife Wilma VanEck; and his children, Carolyn Ayers (Mark) of Whitmore Lake, David (Lori) of Florida, Steven (Jacqueline) of Lambertville, Philip (Mavis) of Saline and Paul (Annette) of Livonia. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
