Sara Mendel Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sara Mendel of Ann Arbor, Michigan, who passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, Eleanor Wisotsky, Lillian Rubenstein, Dov Mendel and Seymour Mendel. She is survived by: her husband Arthur Mendel; her children, Ruth (late Thomas), Aaron (Matilde Castiel), Matthew (Dragana), Joanna Friedman (Richard) and Aliza (Peter Tierney); her grandchildren, Jacob, Adam (Kaley Stroup), Zachary (Laina Weinman), Lazar Mendel, Rebecca, Daniel, Julia Friedman, Sophia and Max Tierney; her great grandchildren, Owen, Gabriel and Cecilia; her sisters, Ida Graber, Dora Prinz and Miriam Stein; and her sister-in-law Suzanne Whitney.
