He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wagaw Gebremichael and Tirunesh Kassahun; his wife Tsehai Wolde-Tsadik; his children, Menelik Wagaw, Fikirte Wagaw and Seble Wagaw; his siblings, Walelign Wagaw and Kassaye Wagaw; his grandchildren, Ian Fickes-Wagaw, Maya Fickes-Wagaw and Samson Wagaw-Haile; and his siblings, Alemnesh Wagaw, Etenat Wagaw and Berhanu Wagaw.
