He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Rayer and Mary Rayer; his stepfather William Holl; and his sisters, Mary Nicholson (Sis) and Marj Moon.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Maloney; his children, Tommy Rayer (Laura), Shelly Theros (Dean) and Billy Rayer; his grandchildren, Christina, Cara, Heather and Thomas; his great grandchild Avery; his siblings, Mick Quackenbush, Sally Jarvi (Bill), Nick Rayer (Donna) and Robert Rayer (Marilyn); and his siblings-in-law, Cecelia Winkle, Chrissie Mattie (Patrick), William Maloney (Topper) and Joseph Maloney (Chris). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, dear friends, and an extended family.
