She was predeceased by: her husband Tirrel Burton; her parents, Minnie Ayers (Kinley) and William Clifford Ayers; and her siblings, Charlotte Strowhorn (Ayers), Mercedes Laster (Ayers) and Walter Fredrick Ayers.
She is survived by: her children, Ellen Burton and Mark Burton; and her nieces and nephews, Charlotte Strowhorn, Sheryl "Tanny" Perkins (Ayers), Martina Farrar (Laster), Unice "Sissy" McCollum (Laster), Sonya Parker (Laster), Clifford Ayers, Percy Strowhorn and Michel Strowhorn.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Ann Arbor Church of the Good Shepherd Choir fund - which she so enjoyed being a part of.
