He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Beattie and Eileen Beattie (Page); and his former life partner Linda Sienko. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Beattie of Atlanta; his children, Aurore Diehl of Albuquerque, Paul Layden (Jill) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kari Nunemaker of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, Steven Layden of Albuquerque, Daniel Layden (Debbie) of Fort Worth, Texas and Heidi Teets (John) of Atlanta; and his sisters, Kathleen Stremersch of Detroit, Eileen Dudzinski (Gary) of Fairhaven and Darlene Meldrum (Pete) of Algonac. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
