He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Karvonen and Selma Karvonen (Pennala); his wife Gloria Dulong; his sons, Keith and Ronald; his granddaughter Stephanie; and his children-in-law, Yoko and Gene.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Luttinen (Ernie) of Wisconsin, Wayne Karvonen of Washington, Gary Karvonen of Houghton, Darlene Van Wert (Kim) of L'Anse, Diane Karvonen South Range, Cindy Hall of Atlantic Mine and Donald Karvonen of Atlantic Mine; and his grandchildren, Jodi, Carri, Tracy, Lisa, Shawn, Jamie, Mary Jo and Emily.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial donations be given to Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly.
