We announce the death of LaVern M. Dittenber (Au Gres, Michigan), who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Dittenber and Edith Dittenber; his wife Alvinia Dittenber; his daughter Diane Rozanski; and his brothers, Don Dittenber and Raymond Dittenber.
He is survived by: his daughters, Darlene Smith and Deborah Young (Duane); his grandchildren, Jason Smith, Kasey Freeman, Chelsea Benchley, Nickolas Young, Bridget Lalonde and Megan Polito; and his close friend Doris Nickell. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Arenac Christ United Methodist Church (3322 E Huron Rd, Au Gres, MI 48703).
