He was predeceased by: his parents, James Eck and Cornelia Van Eck. He is survived by: his wife Meredith Van Eck; his son James Van Eck III (Callie Ruohomaki); his grandchildren, Camrin and Sienna of Negaunee; his sister Carol Van Eck of Grand Rapids, MI; his pet Leia; and his close friend Ruby.
