Gary Turmell Obituary

Gary Turmell, 80, of Auburn, MI passed away quietly the evening of Thursday March 19th at 11:37 pm with family at Huron Woods. Gary was born June 30, 1945 to Margret (Hoffman) and Clement Turmel. He was the third of six siblings.

He grew up in Auburn where he developed a passion for the outdoors and farm life. Over his life Gary cared for everything from pigeons and rabbits to cows and pigs, but was especially fond of his chickens.

Gary enjoyed working with his hands and spent many years at Prestolite before moving on to care work. His nurturing spirit was one of his greatest strengths at Stratford Village where he would even work holidays and weekends to make sure residents could see their own families and make appointments.

He is quoted as saying that he loved, "farming, fishing, and eating, but not in that order.". He enjoyed a close relationship with his family and was a steady loving presence to his nieces and nephews and relished throwing and attending family get togethers every year.

Gary is survived by his sister Kathy and brother Steve (Cris) as well as his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Jake, and sister Marge.

His kind nature and highly personalized pranks will be missed.
