Geraldine Yankee Obituary
Geraldine Yankee, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Auburn, Michigan, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 4, 1933, in the small town of Kawkawlin, Michigan, Geraldine's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and enduring relationships.
A loving mother, Geraldine's devotion to her children was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Cherri) Yankee and Larry (Jill) Yankee, as well as her daughter-in-law, Patricia Yankee. Her legacy of love continues through her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaylord, her son Lanny, and her grandson Travis. Her family remembers her as the heart of their world, a woman whose presence was a source of constant support and affection.
Geraldine's interests were as rich and varied as the life she led. An avid golfer, she found joy in the serenity of the greens and the camaraderie amongst friends at the clubhouse. Her competitive spirit shone through during games, whether she was engaged in a friendly match of cards or a spirited board game with her grandchildren. Adventures, big and small, were Geraldine's delight; she loved nothing more than going for rides, exploring the scenic beauty of Michigan, and creating memories with her loved ones.
Her zest for life extended to her social outings, particularly her enjoyment of going out to dinner. These occasions were not merely about the food but about the laughter, conversation, and the strengthening of bonds that took place around the table.
