It is with sadness that the passing of Fredrick E. Platteborze (Augusta, Michigan) is shared. Fredrick, born on January 18, 1944 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 3, 2026. Fredrick will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Fredrick by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Fredrick is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Fredrick’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Platteborze and Mary Leighliter; his stepfather Vernon Lanphear; his grandson Dustin; and his significant other Connie Woolner.
He is survived by: his children, Fred Jr. of Drury, Missouri, Heath of Battle Creek and Alexandra Selent (Scott) of Plainwell; and his siblings, Frank Platteborze (Nancy) of Kalamazoo, Vernon "Butch" Lanphear (Jackie) of Barryton and Catherine Mangold of Kalamazoo. He is also survived by several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (49012 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI).
